I have had such a hard time blogging consistently now that I am a mother of three (even though, yes, it has been almost 18 months since my third). I really am trying to be better. Here are a few of my favorites from this family’s maternity session and then their newborn session a few weeks later, both done at their home. I offer discounts to families looking to book any combination of pregnancy and newborn portrait sessions and birth photography, which almost all of my clients take advantage of. I love getting to see a couple transition into parenthood!

Tiny Baby Brother: Bellingham Newborn Photographer

Three months ago this sweet mama contacted me to book Â a newborn session for her little one because she knew that soon after birth he would have to get casts on his legs for clubbed feet. It was great that she did since he was born during the busy Christmas season and he only had a few days between being born, being in the hospital and going back for casts! This guy was one of the easiest newborns I have ever photographed and oh so tiny with some serious rock star status hair. 🙂 I love getting to mix up some lifestyle newborn shots and some sleepy posed ones. Enjoy!

The Strength of a Mother: Bellingham Birth Photographer

This morning I woke up, got my kids off to school and headed out to a birth, and whoa what a birth! I walked into the room and began to feel out the mood and it was immediately clear that this mama was strong, focused, present and working hard. She and her husband worked seamlessly together through waves of contractions and pushing to help a beautiful, perfect baby girl into the world! The whole thing was lovely and inspiring! Congrats Jayson and Sherry on your preciousÂ gift! I can’t wait to see you again for newborn pictures.

Meet the Midwife: Sarah Joy Day

Meet Sarah, another of the lovely midwives here in Bellingham! I have been able to be at a few births that Sarah has assisted with and she is just lovely and attentive and an all around wonderful woman. Yesterday Sarah and I met up after I picked up my kids and their friends from school. Between the two of us we had 5 kids in tow! Sarah’s little man and mine are just a couple months apart and were so cute running through Elizabeth park and climbing on the playground together (are rather alongside one another). We even managed to get Sarah some head shots during our sunny, but chilly time at the park! Here’s my favorite headshot from yesterday of Sarah and a couple others from our outing.
