Ownby Mini Session

I have so many sessions to blog it is crazy! I have been getting images ready in under a week to be sure you all have plenty of time to get Christmas cards printed, and have neglected my blogging a bit. Be prepared for lots of posts. Here are a few of Layla and her parents from their mini session.

Birth

Saturday night I got to photograph Diane and Will’s birth by cesarean section. It the closest I have ever been to an actual c-section and I was honored to be there! The baby was a whopping 10 pounds 2 ounces and came out looking about the size of one of my baby’s at two months old! Everyone wanted to cuddle and squeeze his chubby cheeks right away! I haven’t gotten to shoot too many births lately, but they remain my favorite type of shoots. Thanks Diane for letting me be a part of you meeting your precious son! Can’t wait to take many more pictures of him!

Ava, 1 Year Old and Her Sisters

I met Ellie at the Lincoln Parish Museum for some pictures of her girls a couple days ago. The littlest one, Ava was past due for her 1 year old pictures and so were her sister for just pictures in general. Here are a few of these precious girls. I might have to post more later there are just so many I love from this shoot, but I am on my way out to a birth!

Happy Volentines Day!

Sorry I had to. Here are some of my favorite from Jamie and Brian’s family session the other day. Jamie is the lovely lady who makes the awesome brag books (and lots of other cool stuff) I have been going on and on about. She and Brian have so adorable little boys and another little peanut on the way in January (I am more than a little excited about those newborns!).

For their session they picked some fun colors and decided not to match which was fun and pretty with the evening light and fall leaves. We shot at a very popular location in Ruston for pictures, but tried to pick some less “worn out” spots mixed and paired with a relaxed attitude we got great pictures!

I shamelessly Photoshoped faces in this one. I tell you only so that you don’t expect too much out of your kids and get disappointed. 🙂

Family Photos of My Photographer

I value photography and not just for you, for myself and my family too! I am glad to say that my family has an awesome photographer that matches our personality and style as I hope you do as well.

Today the Kilpatricks came over to our house for family pictures. Not just theirs, but ours too! Jenn has been photographing the major events in our lives since our wedding four years ago and she is still the best!

Jenn Kilpatrick inspired my endeavor into photography because she was the first photographer I had ever personally known to capture emotions and tell a story the way she does with so much passion. I have always hoped to be as awesome as Jenn is ever since I picked up my first digital SLR camera 3 years ago.

Jenn I am glad I am finally just beginning to repay you for so many photoshoots. I hope I captured a glimpse of the joy I see in you and your family everyday. I love you.

When Jenn gets some of our family pictures ready to see soon I will share those with you as well.

BTW, the Kilpatricks dress better than any other family I know, which just adds to their awesomeness. Jenn’s dress was worn by her mom in the 70’s.
