Baby Brian: Ashland Newborn Photographer

A couple days ago I posted about the homebirth of Andrea & Brian, Ashland’s newest Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth instructors (you can view their birth slideshow here.). Now here is Baby Brian’s newborn session sneak peak at just 6 days old. WHat a little bundle of chubby cuteness!

Newborn sessions are typically done in your home or mine in the first 14 days off life. To talk about getting natural professional coverage of your birth, pregnancy or a newborn session just click the contact button. Thanks!

Baby Juna: Talent, Oregon Newborn Photographer

Last week I had the privilege of meeting baby Juna at about 10 days old. He was already super alert and strong and a pleasure to get to know. Juna is so blessed to have two loving parents who live in a beautiful forested area in Talent and who brought him into the world at home and are completely smitten with him already! You can check out Juna’s parents business The Solar Collection for information on solar water and pool heating in the Rogue Valley by clicking on the business name!

He is a thumb sucker already!

Little Brian’s Birth: Ashland Homebirth Photographer

This past weekend I had the honor of attending Brian’s birth…well sort of. I actually arrived just minutes after he made his appearance, WAY faster than anyone expected and making him my first baby to actually miss the birth of! I met with Brian’s mom earlier in the day on Saturday (Brian’s actual due date BTW) and we hung out and chatted for almost two hours! Later that evening Andrea (Brian’s mama) called to say she was in labor and having contractions regularly. Because she was talking to me fine on the phone and had only been in labor a couple hours I told her I would be there within the hour and to call me if anything changed. Well when I arrived 40 minutes later I walked into a very excited house of three big sisters who just found out they had gotten a brother!

Brian arrived so fast in fact, they couldn’t even get the birthing tub filled in time and the midwives’ car doors were open and some of their items were still outside! (If you drive up to a home and see this, you know you are late! 🙂 ). Anyway, I was so happy to still be able to capture Brian’s first couple of hours of life with his three big sisters and his wonderful mama and daddy. The midwives (Laura Roe and Veege Ruediger, click their names to view their websites/practices for well woman and prenatal and birth care) at this birth were so great, thorough and just a pleasure to spend the evening with. They did everything at Andrea’s pace (exams and paperwork, ect), and did an excellent job of including all the siblings. Andrea is also a Bradley Method instructor and though new to this area, will be teaching classes soon. To contact her about classes you can view the teacher director here.

Note: I have hand picked only about half of Andrea’s birth photos for this video slideshow. Breastfeeding is shown throughout, however no other body parts are shown nude. If you are sensitive to seeing a baby breastfeeding you may not want to view this video slideshow (and in fact you may not want to be on my blog at all 😉 . All these images have been previewed and cleared to be shown publicly by the family.

Sarah Jane Nelson and Rene Millan: Ashland Photographer

So I don’t normally shoot “head-shots” and I limit my commercial shoots to products and services for mammas or kids. Sarah Jane Nelson makes fabulous hand stamped jewelry for her business Life is Rosey. I bought one of her custom pieces for my MIL this Christmas and it was a HUGE hit! Her hubby Rene is an actor and an acting coach who teaches acting to both children, teens and adults. You may remember this family form their gorgeous family shoot in a local pear orchard here.

Well this family moved today to California and Ashland is going to really miss them. We will miss their kids Rosey and Mateo (who my daughter calls Potato), their singing, their acting and just having around. But we are super happy that they will be back some this summer for Green Shows! Here are a few of of my favorites from their head shot sessions. There were so many (I think we picked out over 100 images all together to retouch!). Enjoy!

Sarah Jane, thanks for being one of the first people to welcome me to the valley, never making fun of the way I saw “ya’ll” and introducing me to my favorite local restaurant! 🙂 Best Wishes!

Ecopiggy Mama Hayley: Ashland Maternity Photographer

Yesterday Ecopiggy: Natural Children’s Products Owner and beautiful pregnant mama Hayley and I drove up Mount Ashland hoping to find a wintery wonderland for some fun pregnancy photos. Unfortunately even though there had been a light power there was very little snow to be found and on in small shady areas. Thankfully Hayley still has time before her due date and I hope the weather will give us some good snow for another shoot soon! For now, he is one from yesterday! Don’t forget to check out Hayley’s company’s website that is committed to bringing ecofriendly children’s products to every home! They have some great stuff!
